35 years ago today, the Statue of Liberty was taken hostage as an act of protest for the liberation of Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rican political prisoners by the former members of the Young Lords Party. While in Puerto Rico, I asked Panama (he was a main organizer) if he could speak about the Statue of Liberty take over. This is how he saw it.
